CAIRO – Egyptian Investment Minister Hassan el-Khateeb said Wednesday that Bahraini business in Egypt needs a boost to be up to aspirations of both countries.
In a meeting with Bahraini Ambassador in Cairo Fawziya bint Abdullah earlier today, the minister discussed means of boosting economic relations and implementing projects that would benefit both peoples and economies.
Egypt is working to invigorate the role played by the private sector in the national economy, Khateeb told the Bahraini diplomat.
He touched upon eased measures for investors so they won’t have to deal with many government bodies in the process of establishing their businesses.
The Investment Ministry is keen on increasing incentives to Bahraini investors to encourage them to expand their investments in Egypt, Khateeb noted.
The Bahraini ambassador said her country is interested in promoting economic cooperation with Egypt in many fields.
She was pleased with the achievements made in Egypt and the mega national projects implemented in the Arab country.
Bint Abdullah said that Bahrain’s location could be used as a major trade and logistics hub for Egyptian exports to world countries, particularly in the Arab Gulf region.
