ASWAN, Upper Egypt – International Cooperation Minister Rania al Mashat said that her current visit to Aswan along with United Nation (UN) Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova comes as part of the UN week in Egypt.
In statements on the sidelines of her visit to Aswan, Mashat said that the visit comes prior to the signing of a new partnership framework for the period 2023-2027 between Egypt and the UN.
The new partnership aims to increase joint development projects between the two sides, added the minister.
The minister, meanwhile, lauded the numerous development projects which have been implemented in Egypt under the UN’s umbrella.
Talking about her current visit to Aswan, the minister said that she inspected a societal school which was established with the support of the UN World Food Programme (WFP).
The minister further said that she will also pay a visit to The Nubian Museum.
For her part, Panova lauded the ongoing development projects in Aswan, saying that such projects contribute to improving the quality of people’s life.
The UN official also extended thanks to the Aswan governor for his efforts, adding that eight UN agencies are implementing projects in the governorate.
She also thanked the International Cooperation Ministry, which is the main partner of the UN in implementing development projects throughout Egypt.
