Egyptian International Co-operation Minister Rania Mashaat reviewed on Wednesday governmental efforts exerted through the ministry to make sure that the developmental funding coincides with the UN sustainable development goals.
This came during her participation in a celebration to launch the 2022 industrial development report published by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) under the title “the future of industry in a post-pandemic world” that shed light on the countries’ capabilities in various industrial sectors to face the negative consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During her speech, the minister noted that the funds allocated to the ninth goal of the industry, innovation and main structures aiming at implementing 118 projects had reached $5.7 billion at a percentage of 22.3 of the total developmental funds. While the 11th goal of sustainable the cities and societies aiming at implementing 32 projects had reached $1.5 billion at a percentage of 5.8 of the total developmental funds.
She also pointed out at the Egyptian government’s efforts to develop national industries, localise modern technologies, support business environment and encourage private sector to engage in developmental efforts.
