CAIRO – Egypt’s International Co-operation Ministry has launched a round of talks with a delegation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) to discuss “NWFE” programme for investment in climate-related projects in line with an integrated approach between the sectors of water, energy and food.
The programme was launched in July by International Co-operation Minister Rania al-Mashat during the joint coordination co-operation platform with a group of development partners under the chairmanship of the UN and the German Embassy in Cairo.
The programme falls within the framework of directives issued by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli’s to participate in financing a list of projects as part of “NWFE” programme through development partners, international finance institutions, multilateral development banks and the private sector.
The EIB delegation started visit to Egypt on August 17 and their visit will run until August 21.
The delegation is due to hold several meetings with the International Co-operation Ministry’s officials along with the relevant bodies at the ministries of agriculture, irrigation and housing to discuss the projects listed on the “NWFE” programme.
