Cairo- Egyptian Minister of International Co-operation Rania el Mashat has called on Swizz businessmen to make use of the investment opportunities available in Egypt in various fields.
During a meeting with a Swiss business delegation, Mashat reviewed Egypt’s efforts to match development financing with sustainable development goals, which consolidate the principles of transparency and governance while managing the development co-operation portfolio.
She also spoke about the axes of the economic and structural reform programme, which helped the State to achieve a primary budget surplus and maintained economic growth even in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mashat affirmed the ministry’s role in promoting economic co-operation with other countries and managing Egypt’s development co-operation portfolio with them, which amounts to over $25 billion.
The minister reviewed the State’s efforts to empower women and launch the East Mediterranean Gas Forum to turn the country into a regional energy hub.
For their part, the Swiss investors said their visit aimed at getting acquainted with the economic situation in Egypt.
