Egyptian Minister of International Co-operation Rania al-Mashat discussed with Managing Director for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Heike Harmgart boosting bilateral co-operation regarding joint initiatives and projects figuring high on the agenda of the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27), to open in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
During a meeting on Wednesday with the EBRD official, the minister tackled the possibility of promoting developmental co-operation ventures including financing green projects and looming opportunities pertaining to a programme to incentivise green public investments in the energy, food and water domains, as part of Egypt National Climate Change Strategy 2050 (NCCS).
