CAIRO – Security bodies at the Interior Ministry revealed the circumstances behind a video posted by a page belonging to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, claiming that 15 persons were kidnapped at gunpoint in Abnub city in Assiut governorate.
After the examination of the video, these allegations were found to be false.
Investigations showed that a person filed a complaint at Abnub police station about a dispute over the ownership of a plot of land in the desert hinterland five years ago.
The man admitted that he spread these unfounded allegations, believing that this would lead to settling the dispute in his favor.
The prosecution was notified to launch a probe into the incident.
