CAIRO – Egypt’s Interior Ministry on Tuesday launched the 21st phase of a 20-day initiative, “We Are All One”, with the aim to secure strategic and basic commodities at discounts that could reach up to 60 per cent.
The initiative, launched under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Police Day, which falls on January 25 of each year.
Besides foodstuffs, the initiative also provides durable goods, electrical appliances, household items, clothes, furnishings, lighting supplies and medicals to protect against coronavirus at reduced prices.
As many as 1,063 outlets across Egypt will apply the initiative in coordination with supply police and supply companies.
Commodities will be made available at 25 to 60-percent off their original prices compared with other markets where the initiative is not applied.
