The Egyptian Interior Ministry beefed up measures to secure Thanaweya Amma (high school) exams to start on Monday, using the new system of bubble -sheet for the second time.
For two days starting from Monday, a total of 707,992 students will take their tests in the subjects whose scores are not added to the grade point average (GPA).
On June 26, both the students of the science and arts sections will take their test of the Arabic Language.
Security forces will be deployed around schools where the exams are being held to secure the exam process and address any emergency immediately.
Security chiefs across the nation checked on the exam committees to make sure they are ready to receive students.
The students will be handed the questions booklet and a bubble sheet with multiple choice questions, where they are allowed to fill in their answers using a pencil first, and then when they are sure about the answers, they can shade the answers using a pen.
There will be no essay questions, thus allowing a fully electronic grading system.
The exams are unified but there will be four different forms of each exam in which the questions will be arranged differently to prevent cheating.
No electronic devices, including cell phones, will be allowed inside the exam committees.
In earlier statements, the Education Ministry announced that it will place surveillance cameras in classrooms to prevent cheating.
