CAIRO– Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik and his Somali counterpart Mohamed Ahmed Shiekh reviewed here on Sunday ways to promote cooperation.
During a meeting with the Somali official and the delegation accompanying on an official visit, Tawfik also discussed the latest developments on various security-related issues of mutual concern.
Meanwhile, the Somali official voiced an interest in boosting cooperation mechanisms to share relevant expertise.
He also applauded the ministry’s technological and training capabilities which he witnessed first-hand while touring some of the ministry’s sectors.
For his part, Tawfik emphasized the critical importance of consolidating joint efforts to clamp down on all forms of terrorism and organized crime, in light of recent changes at the regional and international levels.
