Industry ministry keen on providing industrial atmosphere to localise car industry: Industry min. 1 - Egyptian Gazette

CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el-Wazir asserted the keenness of the government to provide suitable industrial atmosphere to localise and develop car industry and its feeding industries for their contribution in pumping real investments, localising industry and providing more job opportunities for youth.

This came during Wazir’s meeting with representatives of Leoni Egypt company which is specialized in producing energy wires and cables for major international car manufacturing companies.

The meeting tackled the current projects of the company in the Egyptian market and the future projects that the company is to establish in Egypt in the coming period.

The minister reviewed the company’s project to establish a factory for electric harnesses in Robbiki City on an area of 11,000 metres. The project aims at promoting the local production and exporting to foreign markets.

During the meeting, the minister asserted the keenness of his ministry on providing different aspects of support to the company to overcome all the challenges facing it.

He asserted the ministry’s keenness on positive fruitful cooperation with Leoni Egypt company as it is one of the pioneering companies in the field of car where 6,200 employees are working in 15 factories in Cairo, Assiut and Badr City with a total area of 90,000 metres.

He pointed out that the government is working on providing a suitable industrial atmosphere to localize and develop car industry, adding that the Egyptian market is full of investment opportunities and potentials in this field including raw materials and trained manpower.

Meanwhile, the representatives of the company expressed its keenness on boosting its existence in the Egyptian market and increase the volume of investments in Egypt.
