Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir on Monday affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi trusts the ability of Egyptian workers to develop the vital and key industrial sector and turn Egypt into a regional industrial hub.

President Sisi supports all workers of the industrial sector and other business sectors, considering them the cornerstone of achieving sustainable development in various fields, Wazir said.

The minister, during an Iftar banquet with workers of iron and steel factories in Sadat city, Monufia governorate, commended the competency and dedication of Egyptian workers in accomplishing projects in Egypt and abroad.

He underscored the necessity of localization of different industries in line with presidential directives to meet the market demand and boost exportation, as well as to create job opportunities for the youth, secure hard currency and support the national economy.

Wazir said that since his appointment as minister of Industry in July, 2024, a seven-track plan was drawn up to develop the national industry through establishing new factories to meet the demand of the domestic market and manufacture local production equipment to compete the exported ones in quality and prices, through attracting Egyptian, Arab, and foreign investors.

The plan has also given a top priority to boosting the industrial exports that rely on primary raw materials already existing in the local market at competitive prices, including iron and aluminium, the minister added.

Meanwhile, Wazir held a meeting with heads of mega iron and steel companies, including Ashry Steel Group, El Garhy Steel, Beshay Steel group, Elmarakby Steel and AlGioshy Steel Group to discuss ways of promoting the progress of this crucial industry.
