Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli attended the signing of a contract to establish Indorama Egypt Fertilizers in the Sokhna Industrial Area of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The project, covering 522,000 square meters, involves $525 million in first-phase investments and will create 2,500 direct jobs during operation plus 500 during construction.
The industrial complex will produce 600,000 tons annually of phosphate fertilizers and chemicals, with 80 percent of output directed to export markets. Madbouli described the project as a strategic addition to Egypt’s industrial sector, while SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din emphasized its role in attracting capital-intensive, technology-driven investments and strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub.
