CAIRO – Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva commended the partnership with Egypt, affirming the fund’s full support for the country’s efforts to achieve economic stability.
Speaking at a joint press conference on Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdalla in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Georgieva said her meeting today with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was fruitful and inspiring.
She noted that bold economic measures taken by the Egyptian government encouraged the IMF to increase the loan from USD 3 billion to $8 billion.
The IMF managing director expressed appreciation of the CBE’s governor endeavors to deal with economic challenges.
