CAIRO- The Cabinet Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) issued the sixth edition of “Strategic Prospects” Magazine, a periodical series prepared by a group of thinkers and researchers who provide insights and analyses on the most important issues raised on the regional and global arenas.
The new edition is titled “Climate Changes..A General Background” which highlights Egypt’s preparations for hosting the UN Climate Conference (COP27) as well as international expertise in the field of diplomacy and climate governance.
The magazine also raised questions on whether the Middle East region could join the international pace for combating the impact of climate changes. It also outlined the development of climate-related mechanisms, conferences, agreements of the UN in this regard till the convocation of COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
COP27 edition of the magazine also underlined Egypt’s transition to green economy as a comprehensive tool for development, in addition to a variety of structural and legislative reforms that have been introduced by the Egyptian government since 2016 to lure eco-friendly investments.
The magazine also underscored Egypt’s launching of the First National Strategy on Climate Change for 2050, which aims at mitigating the impact of climate change on the quality of life, targets of sustainable development as well as maintaining natural resources and preserving the eco-system.
