CAIRO – The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) said Egypt seeks to up its cultivated lands by 0.5 million feddan during 2022-2023 in addition to raising the feddan’s productivity by 15 to 20 per cent through efficient use of water and seeds.
This came in an infograph published by the IDSC on Egypt’s plan to achieve self-sufficiency of various commodities by 2025.
Egypt aims to raise agricultural exports to $3.6 billion during 2022-2023 against $2.4 billion in 2020-2021.
Egypt seeks to up its self-sufficiency of wheat by 2025 to 65 per cent against 45 per cent in 2020, yellow corn by 32 per cent against 24 per cent and meat by 65 per cent against 57 per cent.
