The cabinet’s media center highlighted a reduction by 31.4 % in the non-petroleum trade deficit during the first quarter of 2023 to hit 3.8 billion dollars, compared to the same quarter in 2022 that recorded 21.1 billion dollars.
In its publication, titled “Non-Petroleum Commodities Exports,” the center spotlighted causes of the decrease in the value of non-petroleum imports.
The value of non-petroleum exports reached in the same period 8.8 billion dollars against nearly 9.4 billion dollars in the comparison period, marking a reduction rate of about 6.4%, it said.
Non-petroleum imports hit 17.1 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2023, compared to about 21.5 billion dollars in the relevant quarter in 2022 with a reduction rate of about 20.5%, according to it.
