Hurghada International Airport succeeded in passing the external audit of the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001.2018.
This comes as part of directives made by Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar that Egyptian airports should keep pace with international legislative and legal requirements related to occupational safety and health and provide a safe work environment in line with these requirements.
This achievement came within the certificates obtained by Hurghada International Airport, where the airport succeeded in passing all the requirements of international standards, as it obtained the ISO 9001.2015 quality management system certificate, then obtained the ISO 14001.215 environmental management system certificate, which culminated in obtaining the ISO occupational health and safety management system certificate.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, President of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, confirmed that the success of Hurghada airport in passing all international standard requirements for quality systems and management of occupational safety and health and the environment is a great achievement, congratulating all airport employees and appreciating their sincere efforts and efficiency in making this achievement.
Ahmed Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Company for Airports, expressed his happiness and appreciation to all employees for passing the final audit phase, which was carried out by the SGS donor, without any cases of non-conformity, which led to this success at the level of Egyptian civil aviation.
With Hurghada airport obtaining ISO 45001.2018, the desired goals have been achieved, which include providing a safe work environment and complying with legislation related to occupational safety and health.
A number of Hurghada airport employees were honored and given certificates of appreciation for their efforts, in the presence of Pilot Murad El-Sayed, Director of Hurghada airport, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Head of Conformity and Safety Sector at the Egyptian Airports Company.
