The first edition of Our Country’s Industry exhibition, launched on Sunday under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo, has seen a huge turnout as soon as it opened its doors.
Exhibitors expressed their admiration for the good organisation of the three-day exhibition, arranged by the National Press Authority (NPA), in co-operation with the three state-run press institutions, Al-Ahram, Akhbar Al-Youm and Dar Al-Tahrir for Printing and Publishing.
The exhibition wraps up its activities today.
The pavilions of the Suez Canal, the energy sector, real estate investment, and construction and building materials saw thousands of visitors.
Likewise, the showcasing of food products and engineering industries were well patronised along with the Diyarna Fair, affiliated to the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which displayed a variety of traditional handicrafts.
The exhibition, which is the largest gathering of national industries in Egypt show casing the achievements of the past eight years, underlies the importance of uniting all state authorities to encourage national products and all public and private industry, especially at the present time with the repercussions of the war in Ukraine.
Minister of Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik said this exhibition reflects Egypt’s keenness to support national industry and local manufacture.
During the opening ceremony, NPA chief Abdel Sadek el-Shorbagy thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for the reform programme that rendered Egypt capable of weathering successive global crises and challenges.
“Without these achievements that Egypt has witnessed recently, the idea of our exhibition would not have seen the light of day,” el-Shorbagy added.
