CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has praised strong and deeply-rooted ties between Egypt and Mauritania in the different fields, particularly higher education.

The minister’s remarks came on Monday at a meeting with Seidi Mohamed Abdullah, Mauritania’s ambassador to Egypt, to discuss means on promoting educational and cultural cooperation between both countries.

The Higher Education Ministry is keen to cement relations with the African country in all domains, Abdel Ghaffar said, shedding light on scholarships offered to Mauritanian students to increase and support cultural, educational and social exchange between both sides.

The minister discussed with the diplomat mechanisms on having further cooperation in educational and cultural fields.

For his part, the ambassador lauded good ties with Egypt, stressing that his country is keen to strengthen such ties and develop further cooperation in different domains.
