Egypt’s Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour stressed Egypt’s keenness on promoting cultural and scientific co-operation with France and opening more co-operation channels with French universities.
He made the remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Baréty.
The meeting tackled means of enhancing cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research as well as the latest developments of a project for establishing a new French university in Egypt,
Ashour underlined the depth of the Egyptian-French ties in the education and scientific research fields, referring to the inking of an agreement for re-establishing the French university in Egypt.
The Egyptian government is deeply interested in seeing the French University becoming an example of joint academies and benefiting from high-quality educational programs, he said, referring to the ministry’s success in engaging in partnerships with a number of international educational associations.
For his part, the French ambassador welcomed enhancing co-operation with Egypt in various domains, especially in higher education and scientific research.
He wished the French University project will bolster partnership between Egypt and France in the higher education domain.
