Higher education min. delivers Egypt’s word in 219th UNISCO executive council

Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, Head of the Egyptian National Commission to UNISCO and Egypt’s Representative to UNISCO Executive Council Ayman Ashour asserted that the Palestinians are suffering in an unprecedented way due to the continuous brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for more than 5 months.

He asserted that Egypt urges the UNISCO to start implementing its initiative to put an urgent work plan to handle the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

This came in Egypt’s word, delivered by Ashour, in the 219th round of the UNISCO’s executive council.

Ashour announced Egypt’s support to the statement of the Arab Group that was delivered by Oman’s permanent representative and the statement of the Group of 77 and China delivered by Palestine permanent representative.

He thanked UNISCO Director General Audrey Azoulay for the comprehensive statement she delivered.

Ashour lauded fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the UNISCO especially in light of issuing a decision during the council’s 217th round on “Egyptian Knowledge Bank” (EKB), asserting that Egypt will receive a delegation of the UNISCO officials and member states in the coming period to stand on the latest developments in the implementation of EKB initiative.
