Officials of the Higher Committee for Security and Environmental Inspection on Wednesday examined measures at the Assuit and Suhag Airports in Upper Egypt.
Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, Montasser Mannaa, who doubles as committee chief, and a delegation conducted the inspection tour to follow up and assess the security, health and environmental conditions at the two international airports.
The committee checked security measures, both in and in the vicinity of the two airports, as well as the anti-Covid precautionary and preventive measures that are in place , responding to instructions of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO). This included inspection of the sterilisation operations.
During the tour, Mannaa gave orders on the necessity of coordination among the authorities concerned with the two airports, as well as raising the level of readiness for potential developments regarding the variant Omicron. He also stressed commitment to the precautionary and health measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.
