Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Suweilam asserted that the High Dam project, in Aswan, is one of the greatest projects of the 20th century, adding that the project protected Egypt from drought and floods for decades.
He pointed out that this huge project is an example of the ability of the Egyptians to build and work together relentlessly.
This comes during 64th anniversary of laying down the cornerstone of the High Dam by late president Gamal Abdel Nasser on January 9 in 1960.
In statements, Suweilam thanked all those who participated in this historic project for the coming generations.
