CAIRO – The Ministry of Health and Population announced Sunday the significant achievements made in implementing the 8th Recommendation related to Climate Change and Health, one of the 11 recommendations from the second edition of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC 24).
This announcement comes ahead of the launch of the third edition of the PHDC 25, this year, as the Ministry continues to successively publish reports on the implementation results of the recommendations, prepared by the Supreme Committee for Follow-up on Implementation, formed by decision No. 17 of 2025 by the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the Ministry gives paramount importance to addressing the relationship between climate change and public health by increasing investment in climate-resilient health infrastructure.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the Ministry has implemented a number of national activities aimed at enhancing the health system’s capacity for climate change adaptation and achieving environmental sustainability, in addition to supporting the health system’s ability to predict climate-related health impacts.
Among the most notable of these achievements is the launch of the Strategic Framework for Health Adaptation to Climate Change (2024-2030), which serves as a national roadmap to raise the health sector’s readiness to face future climate challenges.
