Egypt’s Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghafar has ordered the acceleration of implementing the medical insurance plan for the UN Climate Conference (COP27), due to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
This came during Abdel Ghafar meeting with the ministry’s top officials and heads of specialised authorities via the videoconference.
In a statement following the meeting, Health Minister Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghafar asserted that coordination is underway among the ministry’s entities to secure the climate conference, adding that the plan includes establishing a hospital, mobile clinics, hotel clinics as well as equipped ambulances for emergencies, along with ensuring the preparedness of Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital.
The minister also pressed for the need of optimising the system of remote diagnostics through the specialised medical units established nationwide, noting that their number reached 150 units out of the 300 targeted ones.
