CAIRO – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, affirmed that there is international praise for Egypt’s healthcare sector, especially regarding the presidential initiatives.
He commended the cooperation between the Ministries of Health, Planning and Economic Development, and International Cooperation in launching the Egypt Government Excellence Award for the healthcare sector.
He stated that the director of a health administration is like a minister within his own district, particularly in terms of supervision.
During the launch event of the Government Excellence Award held Monday at the Princess Fatma Academy, Abdel Ghaffar added that training for excellence is not solely aimed at serving the patient, but also benefits the institution and its employees.
He noted that excellence is not limited to just one aspect, but must be comprehensive.
He emphasized that the award translates into tangible performance when it comes to the healthcare sector.
He further explained that applying the concept of institutional excellence in the health sector is directly linked to adopting “quality and accreditation systems,” which have proven effective in improving patient outcomes and reducing medical errors.
