Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, and Chairman of the National Press Authority (NPA) Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy discussed on Thursday ways to provide high-quality medical services to employees of national press institutions.
According to Dr Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, the meeting reviewed healthcare schemes that are available to thousands of press institution employees.
For his part, the deputy prime minister appreciated the important role of press institutions’ employees in spreading public awareness and knowledge on contemporary issues in the community.
He also emphasised his commitment to enhancing co-operation with NPA, particularly in providing quality medical services, including examinations, treatment, and vaccinations.
He stressed the importance of updating the employee databases to ensure that all press institution workers can benefit from the ministry’s health programmes.
He also directed that the Ministry’s “100 Million Health” public health initiatives be expanded to include press institutions, aiming to deploy mobile medical convoys for regular health screenings.
Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy expressed gratitude for the Health Ministry’s support in advancing healthcare schemes for national press employees, noting that an agreement was reached during the meeting to broaden medical services for press workers.
He emphasised the state’s commitment to providing top-quality, non-discriminatory medical care to all national press employees, reinforcing the National Press Authority’s dedication to the health and well-being of its workforce through close coordination with the Ministry of Health.
