CAIRO– Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar chaired Sunday a periodical meeting of the family planning committee to discuss a plan of action and outline strategies meant to control population growth.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of the role played by his Ministry to implement the national plan to develop Egyptian families in a way that helps strike a balance between population growth and economic, social and environmental resources in Egypt, said Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
The meeting also took up a plan to upgrade primary healthcare units and provide trained medical teams in order to offer best services to citizens, the spokesman added.
They also discussed efforts to promote campaigns meant to raise awareness of the different medical services offered by the Health Ministry, Abdel Ghaffar said.
