CAIRO – Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed in a meeting with a delegation of the World Bank Group (WBG), ways of fostering joint cooperation in human development, as part of the State’s interest in building the Egyptian individual.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the health minister briefed the WBG delegation on the tangible results of the presidential initiative “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” since its launch, which he described as the nucleus of the national project for human development.
The minister underlined the necessity of highlighting Egypt’s efforts within public health initiatives and vaccinations to improve the quality of life of citizens, while presenting the State’s efforts to build the Egyptian individual and evaluating the current situation of human development in Egypt.
The spokesman added that the health minister posted the WBG delegation on investment opportunities in human capital to support policy makers and decision makers, stressing the political leadership gives a top priority to human development.
The spokesman noted that the meeting took up the existing cooperation between the Health Ministry and the WBG in reproductive health, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, vaccinations, family planning programs, especially the “Thousand Golden Days for Developing the Egyptian Family” initiative, which offers important services to the mother and fetus.
