Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, convened a meeting on Sunday to review the progress of the Supreme Committee for Medical Liability and Patient Safety, ensuring that its work remains aligned with its established mandate and objectives.

Health Ministry Spokesman Dr Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar stated that the discussions included a comprehensive review of the committee’s activities from its establishment in November 2025 through to April 2026.
During the meeting, the minister underscored the importance of reinforcing coordination between the Committee and the Public Prosecution, calling for enhanced communication, regular consultations, and joint engagement to further develop operational mechanisms in support of the Committee’s mandate.
The discussions also covered the status of cases referred by the Public Prosecution, including those that have been finalised and others still under consideration.
In addition, progress was reviewed regarding the implementation of the committee’s electronic platform, alongside the activation of its subcommittees across the governorates.
This continued oversight reflects the ministry’s firm commitment to advancing patient safety and ensuring the effective and transparent application of the highest standards of medical accountability.
