CAIRO – Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar emphasised that investing in public health is no longer optional but a strategic necessity for guiding national policies and securing a more prosperous future.
He stressed that health is the cornerstone of human and economic development.
Abdel Ghaffar said this during the opening session of the Global Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (Global PHDC 2025) held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi that was attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli under the rubric “empowering individuals, advancing progress and expanding opportunities.”
He noted that future health spending is a critical tool for shaping public policy, reflecting a growing global recognition that every dollar invested in health translates into economic growth and social stability.
Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that Egypt witnessed unprecedented growth in health sector investment, increasing more than ninefold over the past decade (2014–2024).
This growth aligns with a national vision focused on human development and improving quality of life, through flagship presidential initiatives such as “100 Million Health,” “Decent Life” and “Egyptian Women’s Health.”
