Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed in a meeting with Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese a proposal to develop the Coptic Hospital in Cairo, while preserving its architectural style.
Abdel Ghaffar thanked the pontiff for his unlimited support of the State’s efforts in different fields and his role in upholding the values of love, fraternity and humanity in the society.
The minister and Pope Tawadros agreed to form a working group comprising engineers from the Health Ministry and the Cathedral to coordinate the work on the development of the Coptic Hospital.
The pair probed cooperation in improving health services offered to citizens either at hospitals or through the 100 Million Health initiative or the 100 Days of Health Campaign.
The two sides agreed to send more mobile medical convoys to churches and monasteries in governorates.
