CAIRO – Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said that addressing misinformation must rely on proactive communication policies, noting that transparency and early engagement with the public are essential, especially as seasonal rumors reappear during winter and the start of the school year.
During a visit to the ministry’s media observatory in the new administrative capital, he reviewed how misinformation is monitored, directing the team to be equipped with advanced tools that allow faster and more accurate detection and analysis of misleading content.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister for Media and official spokesperson, said the observatory works around the clock to track all published content across media outlets and social platforms, verify information, and issue immediate clarifications to maintain public awareness and reinforce trust in the healthcare system.
