Egypt’s Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has discussed with a delegation from the African Union (AU) ways of propelling co-operation in supporting the health sector.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed prospects of future cooperation between Egypt and the AU in producing various kinds of vaccines through Egypt’s Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA).
The AU delegation also visited the premises of VACSERA company to get acquainted with its financial and human capabilities.
In press statements Wednesday, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister was briefed on the AU’s plan and ongoing efforts to improve the vaccination rate in the African Continent.
The minister also lauded the AU’s unremitting efforts in improving public health systems, with the aim of protecting the African Continent, added the spokesman.
