CAIRO – Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with a delegation of the leading US medical devices and health care company Abbott Laboratories for talks on boosting cooperation towards enhancing medical services provided to citizens.
The meeting discussed supporting diabetes patients, especially children under the age of 18, according to Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
The talks took up reinforcing the localization of drug and medical equipment industries in Egypt, in collaboration with Abbott company, particularly in the domain of manufacturing heart valve stents, in order to ensure securing local needs of medical supplies and subsequently export these supplies to the African countries, the spokesman added.
