Egypt’s government attaches great importance to economic and social development projects, particularly those under the presidential Hayah Karima (Decent Life) presidential initiative, as well as in the health and education sectors, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said.
Madbouli made the remarks during a meeting on Thursday to review estimates of targeted government investments within the economic and social development plan for fiscal year 2026/2027.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, and officials from the relevant ministries.
Minister Rostom outlined the main features and estimates of the targeted government investments under the upcoming development plan, highlighting the expected volume of investments to be directed toward various development and service sectors as part of the state’s efforts to support comprehensive development and boost economic growth.
He also reviewed the key priorities guiding the government’s investment plan, which aim to improve the quality of public services, enhance infrastructure efficiency, and support the path of economic reform and sustainable development.
The proposed investment estimates cover several priority sectors, including infrastructure, human development, universal health insurance, electricity projects, and initiatives under the “Decent Life” programme.
The draft plan includes increased allocations for priority sectors, particularly health, education, and infrastructure, in addition to expanding investments in the universal health insurance system and projects under the “Decent Life” initiative to improve services in villages and underserved areas, Rostom noted.
