Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el Hefny conducted an inspection tour of Cairo International Airport, focusing on the health quarantine clinics in Terminals 2 and 3.
The visit aimed to assess the medical facilities’ preparedness and the preventive measures in place to protect the health of passengers and airport staff.
The tour comes as part of the ongoing collaboration between the ministries of health and civil aviation and reflects the Egyptian state’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services at vital facilities. The goal is to ensure full readiness to manage various emergency situations and safeguard public health at Cairo International Airport.
During the visit, the ministers inspected arrival and departure clinics, temporary isolation rooms and reviewed the available medical and technical capabilities.
The clinics have been equipped with advanced medical devices, including modern cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) units, vital signs monitors, first aid supplies and essential emergency medications.
The ministers also monitored training activities on sudden cardiac arrest response and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the Ministry of Health’s commitment to implementing a comprehensive CPR training program across hospitals, emergency centers and high-density public areas, aiming to reduce response time and improve survival rates in critical situations.
He stressed that securing air entry points with a robust medical system is a key part of the state’s broader disease prevention and control strategy.
He praised the readiness of the medical teams and the modern equipment available in Cairo Airport’s clinics, which are staffed by qualified doctors, pharmacists and nurses working around the clock to provide immediate care for travelers and staff.
For his part, Hefny expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Health’s efforts to bolster healthcare infrastructure in airports.
He reaffirmed that ensuring the health and safety of passengers is a top priority for the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
