CAIRO – President of European Parliament Roberta Metsola starts on Wednesday a two-day visit to Egypt.
The visit comes within the framework of boosting relations between Egypt and the European Union, the EU delegation to Egypt said in a press statement.
The visit also comes as part of discussions on total financial aidw and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and neighboring areas, the statement said.
Metsola is to meet with Egyptian Parliament Speaker Hanafi el Gebaly and Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek.
The meetings represent an opportunity to discuss parliamentary relations and organizing the coming parliamentary meeting between the EU and Egypt in Cairo.
On Thursday, Metsola will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty to tackle a number of issues including comprehensive and strategic partnership between the EU and Egypt.
