A distinguished participation is anticipated by Greece in the 56th Cairo International Book Fair with several cultural activities and programs throughout the days of the event that kicks off Thursday and runs till February 5th.

Greece’s unique participation includes organizing a symposium on Friday under the title: “From Greek to Arabic and vice versa: Translation as a bridge between cultures.”

The keynote speakers of the symposium are President of the Hellenic Cultural Foundation Nikos A. Kouki and Professor of Comparative Literature and Translation Mohamed Abdel Aziz.

The Greek Embassy in Cairo, in a statement issued on Thursday, said that the Cultural Salon Hall at the Book Fair will host an international symposium on Saturday, as part of the professional program, with the participation of professor Abdel Aziz.

An event will also take place on February 4 to commemorate Greek Poet Constantine P. Cavafy, the statement added.
