CAIRO – Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet said Monday that the government approved amendments to some provisions of the unified public finance law.
The amended law was referred to the House of Representatives to be scheduled for probe next week, Maeet said in a statement.
The new amendments introduce the so-called “general government budget” that will include the State budget and budgets of 59 economic authorities in terms of revenues and expenditures, the minister explained.
This should take place gradually within 5 years after the House has given the okay to the amended law, Maeet said.
