Egypt’s Minister of International Co-operation Rania el-Mashaat chaired one of the committees for selecting female applicants aged 22-50 for the Women Lead for Executives programme.
This programme is part of the Women’s Leadership School programmes by the National Training Academy (NTA) to develop women’s skills in executive positions and broaden their experience in the government and private sector.
Ministers and academics will be on committees conducting tests for female candidates in the programme.
The government attaches great importance to training women for development and shaping the future, the minister said.
The minister referred to the attention given to women in many decisions over the past years of which the foremost is the launch of the National Strategy for Women Empowerment 2030, which is part of Egypt’s Vision 2030 to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) relating to women.
El-Mashaat hailed the role of the NTA and its various human resources training programmes.
El-Mashaat said her ministry is intensifying efforts to mobilise funding and increase co-operation with international development partners in order to design and implement diverse and integrated projects to empower women in line with the SDG 5: Gender Equality.
