Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbaj yesterday met with senior officials of Nasser Social Bank (NSB).
Discussions focused on means to improve the banking system and devise new staff training programmes.
The NSB is expanding financial inclusion and plans to increase the number of branches nationwide — currently 140 plus 27 on university campuses — in line with the government plan to this end, the minister said.
NSB is the main arm of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to implement social protection programmes, the minister added.
El-Qabbaj, who is also NSB board chairman, reviewed all social protection programmes the bank is carrying out.
Talks also covered the ‘Mastoura’ project, in which capital of LE430 million has been invested in one of the most successful initiatives affecting women.
Mastoura was launched three years ago under directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
They also discussed the Family Insurance Fund with which the Ministry of Justice is closely working to preserve the family, protect women breadwinners and develop the Egyptian family, the minister said.
