Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with representatives of Inventure Group to discuss cooperation on establishing the Capital Medical City (CMC) in the New Administrative Capital. The initiative is part of Egypt’s strategy to expand major healthcare projects and attract private investment into the health sector.
The Minister stressed the importance of public–private partnerships in achieving sustainable development, noting that the project will raise the quality of healthcare services to international standards.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar explained that the medical city will span 930,000 square meters, with a capacity of 5,000 beds. It will include specialized hospitals, integrated medical centers, outpatient clinics, operating theaters, intensive care units, and dialysis facilities. The project also features a medical training center for 4,000 students, advanced research hubs, residential areas for staff, hotels for patients and families, and commercial zones to support full operations.
The Minister directed that services provided by the medical city be integrated into Egypt’s universal health insurance system to ensure equal access for all citizens. He requested a detailed implementation plan covering project phases, estimated costs, and operational mechanisms for submission to the Cabinet.
Executives from Inventure Group praised Egypt’s healthcare reform agenda and expressed commitment to supporting the project. The meeting was attended by senior ministry officials and company leaders, including Chairman and CEO Karim Nakhla, Managing Partner Dino Juma, and representatives from the group’s engineering consultancy.
