Government officials and experts, stakeholders and institutions have participated in the promotion of the digital transformation in agriculture.

This statement by Minister of International Co-operation Rania el-Mashaat came during her video speech at the opening of the AgriTech Meet Forum, organised by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The co-operation portfolio with IFAD amounts to $1.1 billion, which has funded 14 projects a total cost of $520 million, the minister added.

Among the aforementioned projects are PRIME, SAIL and PRIDE.

PRIME improves marketing opportunities for small farmers, the minister added, noting that SAIL is for sustainable agricultural investment and PRIDE is about adaptation to desert environments in Matrouh Governorate.

The AgriTech Forum is a synergy of efforts between the relevant parties and these two vital sectors and the sharing of international expertise and experiences  in order to enhance joint cooperation between the government, development partners, the private sector and civil society to promote digital transformation in the agricultural sector.

She stressed the commitment of the Ministry of International Co-operation, in light of the government’s work program and the state’s vision 2030, to encourage innovation and technology in all areas of development, through joint strategies with development partners and international organizations, where digital transformation has become a major axis of achieving sustainable development.
