CAIRO – The Cabinet’s media center has denied the reports circulated on some social media pages alleging that a decision was taken to suspend flights at the Capital International Airport due to the absence of international safety standards upon landing.
In a statement released on Friday, the center said it has contacted the Ministry of Civil Aviation which dismissed such reports, stressing that air traffic at the Capital International Airport is going on normally on a regular basis.
The Capital International Airport is located east of the Cairo airport and serves passengers in the New Administrative Capital in addition to the governorates of Suez and Ismailia.
The center urged all media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of all news and contact the authorities concerned before publishing groundless information that create confusion among citizens.
