The Egyptian Cabinet’s Media Center denied all the rumors regarding setting the validity of civil status documents for six months only.
In a statement Sunday, the media center said it communicated with the Interior Ministry, which totally denied these reports, asserting that they are baseless and bare of truth.
The civil status publications do not hold expiry dates and are valid indefinitely, it added.
The only document that has a validity period is the family record extract, it further said.
The center, meanwhile, urged all media outlets to seek accuracy and objectivity before publishing news, advising them to contact bodies concerned so as to avoid sparking panic among the public.
