CAIRO – The cabinet’s media center denied reports circulated by some social networking websites pages attributed to Egypt Post on the sale of postal parcels in an auction in return for sums of money.
Such “false” reports asked citizens to withdraw the money from their personal accounts.
In a statement on Friday, the center said it communicated with Egypt Post, that refuted the news as groundless.
The postal agency denied as baseless the reports about the sale of the postal parcels, it added.
Such reports are meant to disrupt public order and trigger outrage, the statement said.
It urged all citizens not to be deceived by such reports and to immediately contact the ministry if they have any query.
