The Egypt’s Cabinet media center denied reports claiming that the Manpower Ministry sent text messages with a link to update data of irregular workers in preparation for disbursing a new allowance of EGP 1,000.
In a statement on Wednesday, the center said it contacted the ministry which dismissed the news as baseless.
The center said although it has refuted such rumors several times, this fake news is circulated every now and then to manipulate the data collected about irregular workers.
The center warned citizens of giving any personal information to anyone claiming affiliation to the ministry.
The center said all needed legal measures will be taken in this respect, calling on all social medial users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated.
