CAIRO – The Cabinet Media Centre denied the validity of circulated information concerning the closure of the Egyptian airspace.
In a statement on Sunday, the media centre said it has contacted the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which denied such reports and termed them as “groundless”.
The ministry also affirmed that the Egyptian airspace and the air traffic are operating normally, it added.
It, meanwhile, added that Egypt decided to suspend its flights to some countries, in light of the closure of their airspace.
It further urged all media outlets to seek accuracy and objectivity before publishing news, advising them to contact bodies concerned to avoid sparking confusion among the public.
The centre also called for reporting any rumor or misinformation on WhatsApp numbers (01155508688 -01155508851) or email ([email protected]).
